ADVACRYL PLUS suture is a braided, Triclosan coated antibacterial absorbable surgical suture assures consistent performance for condence in a variety of soft tissue approximation by minimizing Surgical Site Infections (SSI).
Triclosan – coated sutures are effective in reducing the risk of post operative SSI 4
Section 2C. in non parental Antimicrobial
prophylaxis “Considers the use of Triclosan
coated sutures for the prevention of SSI”
Section 4.22 – Antimicrobial coated sutures
recommends the use of Triclosan – coated
sutures for the purpose of reducing the risk
of SSI, independent of the type of surgery.
Robust manufacturing process & superior primary aluminum packaging
ADVACRYL PLUS Antibacterial Suture is a braided, synthetic absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide, coated with a mixture composed of Poly (glycolide-co-lactide) (Glacomer 37) and calcium stearate. suture is ADVACRYL PLUS available in both dyed and undyed form.
ADVACRYL PLUS Antibacterial Suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, except for ophthalmic, cardiovascular and neurological tissues
ADVACRYL PLUS Antibacterial Suture being an absorbable suture, should not be used where extended approximation of tissue under stress is required. The use of this suture is also contraindicated in patients with known sensitivities or allergies to Polyglactin 910.
The progressive loss of tensile strength and eventual absorption of ADVACRYL PLUS Antibacterial Suture occurs by means of hydrolysis where the copolymer degrades to glycolic and lactic acids which are subsequently absorbed and metabolized in the body. Absorption begins as a loss of tensile strength followed by a loss of mass.
