ADVAPD

ADVAPD suture is synthetic absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from polyester and Polydioxanone.

The advanced extrusion process of the molecule of Polydioxanone gives ADVAPD:

The Phases of Fascia Healing
Fascia healing consists of 3 consecutive,
overlapping phases1

Ideal for Fascia Closure :
  • Fascia presents unique clinical challenge
such as the risk of dehiscence2,
    since fascia heals slowly
  • ADVAPD provides absolute strength
retention for up to 6 weeks, enough to
support the fascia throughout the critical
    healing period2
24% more knot pull tensile
strength vs. In-house limit
ensures excellent support to
fascial tissues and minimizes
the risk of dehiscence

Premium Needles for consistent Superior Performance

  • DURABLE COAT RETAINS SHARPNESS…PASS AFTER PASS

Maintains needle sharpness over the duration of procedure, resulting into consistent penetration pass after pass thus less potential for tissue trauma.

  • RIBBED BODY FOR SUPERIOR CONTROL

For superior grasping and stability of needle in needle forceps.

  • CHAMFERING MINIMUM SUTURE DETACHMENT

Diminishes chances for suture fracturing at the swage, by rounding off the sharp edges of the barrel in the swage area of the needle.

  • ELECTROPOLISHING SMOOTH & BRIGHT

Makes needle surface free from micro asperities, thus creates ultra sharp edges for lesser tissue drag.

Robust manufacturing process & superior primary aluminum packaging

  • ADVAPD suture is a synthetic absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from the Polyester and Polydioxanone. ADVAPD suture is available in both dyed and undyed form.

  • ADVAPD suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation, including use in ophthalmic surgery and Paediatric cardiovascular tissue where growth is expected to occur. ADVAPD suture is not indicated in adult cardiovascular tissues, peripheral nerve anastomosis & micro surgery. These sutures are particularly useful where the combination of an absorbable suture and extended wound support (up to six weeks) is desirable.

  • ADVAPD suture being an absorbable suture, should not be used where extended approximation of tissue under stress is required. The use of this suture is also contraindicated in patients with known sensitivities or allergies to Polydioxanone.

  • The progressive loss of tensile strength and eventual absorption of ADVAPD suture occurs by means of hydrolysis. Absorption begins as a loss of tensile strength followed by a loss of mass.
